Because of gravitational forces, the heaviest stars ΓÇ£sinkΓÇ¥ toward the center of globular clusters. All the stars in globular clusters are believed to be quite old, which means that the stars with the greatest mass have already exploded as supernovae. The large, massive stars in this core region probably formed from stellar collisions and mergers.
